A one-button street skateboarding game. Ollie over cones, hydrants and bins, land on rails and benches to grind them, flip the board in mid-air and link tricks into combos worth up to ten times the points.
About Skate Rush
Skate Rush is a side-scrolling skate run down a city pavement at sunset. The skater pushes along on their own, a little faster all the time, and you have exactly one control: jump. Everything else comes from when you press it.
Press on the ground and the skater ollies. That clears the small stuff: traffic cones, fire hydrants and litter bins, any of which will throw you off the board if you ride into it. Press while already in the air and the board flips under your feet, a kickflip, heelflip or shove-it, which scores as long as the board is back the right way up before the wheels touch down. Land mid-flip and you bail.
Rails and benches are different. You cannot ride through them, but if you come down on top of one you lock into a grind and slide along it in a shower of sparks, scoring the whole way, until you hop off the end or jump off early. Wooden ramps launch you higher than an ollie can, which leaves time for a flip and a line of coins.
Tricks alone are worth a little. Combos are where the score is. Every trick you land without rolling along the ground for more than a moment adds one to a multiplier, up to ten, and when the chain ends the whole pot is multiplied and banked. Ollie onto a rail, grind it, jump off into a flip, land on a bench: that is four links. A bail drops the pot and costs one of your three boards. Best score and best combo are saved.

How to play Skate Rush
The skater rolls forward automatically. Press jump to ollie over cones, hydrants and bins. Jump so that you land on top of a rail or bench to grind along it. Press jump again while in the air to do a flip trick, but make sure it finishes before you land. Chain tricks quickly to build a combo multiplier. Riding into an obstacle or landing during a flip is a bail, and three bails end the run.
Controls
Desktop: Space, the Up arrow, W or a mouse click to jump and, in the air, to flip; P to pause, M to mute. Touch: tap to jump, tap again in the air to flip.
Tips & tricks
- Flip at the top of the jump, not on the way down. The board needs almost half a second to come back round.
- Jump a little early for rails. You have to be falling when you reach the top of the rail to lock on.
- Jumping off a grind before the rail ends keeps the combo alive and gives you room for a flip.
- Do not flip off a plain ollie when the next obstacle is close. Land clean and jump again.
Frequently asked questions
How do I grind a rail in Skate Rush?
Jump before the rail so that you are coming down as you reach it. If the board touches the top of a rail or bench while falling, you lock on and grind automatically.
How do combos work?
Each trick you land adds one to the multiplier, up to ten, as long as you keep tricking without more than a moment of plain rolling. When the chain ends, the points collected are multiplied and added to your score.
What makes me bail?
Riding into a cone, hydrant, bin or the side of a bench, or landing while the board is still flipping. Each bail costs one of three boards.
Does Skate Rush save my progress?
Yes — Skate Rush keeps your best score and settings in this browser's local storage, so they are still there when you come back on the same device. Nothing is uploaded and no account is involved — clearing your browser data is what resets it.
