About Curve Kick
Curve Kick is about one moment in football: the direct free kick. The ball is placed somewhere outside the penalty area, a wall of defenders lines up ten yards away, and the goalkeeper takes a position behind them. You have one strike to put the ball in the net.
The view is from just behind the ball, looking at the goal. You shoot by swiping upward. Three things about the swipe decide the shot. Its direction at the start is where the ball sets off, and the ball heads for the point on the goal that the swipe is pointing at. Its length sets the height: a short swipe keeps the ball low, a long one lifts it, and a label beside your finger shows the height as you draw. Its shape sets the curl. A swipe that bends to one side makes the ball swing that way in the air, as a struck ball with side spin does.
The wall and the keeper work together as they do in a real match. The wall blocks the direct line to the near post and the keeper stands toward the far one. That leaves two ways to score. One is to lift the ball over the wall so it drops under the bar. The other is to start it outside the wall and curl it back in. The keeper reads the shot a fraction after it is struck and moves across, so a shot placed close to a post or under the bar is far safer than one near the middle.
A goal scores one point, and a goal into either top corner scores two. A shot that is saved, blocked, wide, over or off the woodwork costs one of your three kicks. There is no clock. Each new kick is from a different distance and angle, from 18 metres out to nearly 30, and as your score rises the wall grows from three players to five and the keeper gets quicker and guesses better.

Tips & tricks
- Watch the height label while you swipe. From about 20 metres, a little over half is enough to clear the wall and stay under the bar.
- The wall guards the near post. Lift the ball over it, or start the shot wide of the wall and curl it back.
- Aim near a post. The keeper covers the middle of the goal on almost every kick.
- From further out the ball has more time to drop, so you can swipe a little longer without sending it over.
Frequently asked questions
How do I curl the ball in Curve Kick?
Bend your swipe. Start it in the direction the ball should set off and curve it toward the side you want the ball to swing. On a keyboard, hold A or D before shooting to add curl to the left or right.
How do I get the ball over the wall?
Swipe a little further. The length of the swipe sets the height, and a label beside your finger shows it as a percentage. Too long a swipe sends the ball over the bar.
How does the scoring work?
A goal is one point and a goal in a top corner is two. Any shot that does not go in costs one of your three kicks, and the game ends when all three are gone.
