A side-on badminton match against the computer. Move under the shuttle, time your swing, jump for a smash and mix drop shots with deep clears. First to 11 points wins, and each win in a row makes the opponent quicker.
About Shuttle Smash
Shuttle Smash is badminton seen from the side of the court, one player against the computer. The shuttle behaves like a real one: it leaves the racket fast, slows sharply in the air and then drops almost straight down. That is what makes the game about position. You have to be standing where the shuttle will come down, not where it is now.
There are four shots, and the game chooses between them from what you are doing at the moment of contact. A plain swing plays a clear to the middle of the other court. Hold the forward key as you swing and you play a drop shot that falls just behind the net. Hold the back key and the shuttle goes deep to the back line. Jump and meet the shuttle high and it becomes a smash, which travels flat and fast and is very hard to reach.
Contact matters as well. The racket has a sweet zone, and a shuttle caught at the very edge of your reach comes off the frame. A framed shot can land anywhere, including in the net or over the back line, so swinging early or from too far away costs points.
A rally is won when the shuttle lands in the other court, or when your opponent hits it into the net or out. The winner of each rally serves the next one. A match is first to 11, two clear, with a cap at 15.
The computer starts slow, with a late reaction and a habit of framing shots. Every match you win in a row raises it one level, up to seven, and each level moves faster, reacts sooner and makes fewer mistakes. Lose and the ladder starts again. Your wins and best streak are saved.

Tips & tricks
- Watch the small shadow on the floor. It shows where the shuttle will land, which is where you need to stand.
- Alternate a drop shot with a deep clear. The computer is slow to cover the full length of its court at low levels.
- Jump a moment before the shuttle arrives so you meet it near the top of the jump. Too early and you land before it gets there.
- Do not swing at full stretch. A shuttle hit on the edge of your reach comes off the frame and usually loses the point.
Frequently asked questions
How do I smash in Shuttle Smash?
Jump with Up or W, or the Jump button, and swing while you are in the air and the shuttle is above head height. A shuttle hit lower than that, or from the ground, is played as a clear instead.
How is a match scored?
Every rally scores a point for whoever wins it, and the winner serves next. The first player to 11 wins, but must lead by two. If it stays level the match ends at 15.
Does the computer get harder?
Yes. Each match you win in a row raises the opponent one level, up to level seven. It moves faster, reacts sooner and frames fewer shots. A defeat resets it to level one.
Does Shuttle Smash save my progress?
Partly. Shuttle Smash keeps a running win/loss tally and your settings in this browser's local storage; there is no level progress to save. Nothing is uploaded and no account is involved — clearing your browser data is what resets it.
