About Curling
Curling is the quiet, thinking-person's sport dressed up as a physics toy. You pull back from the hack like a slingshot, watch the dotted trajectory curve, and let go. Then comes the best part: forty pounds of granite hissing across the ice, bleeding off speed, drifting a hair sideways with the spin, and either kissing the button dead-center or sailing helplessly through the house. Get the weight right and it feels genuinely satisfying.
The core loop is a duel. You and the CPU alternate throws, four stones apiece, and only the rock nearest the button counts unless you've buried several inside your opponent's. So every throw is a little decision. Do you draw soft and nestle in as a guard, or fire a hard takeout that scatters their rocks with a proper clack? One heavy throw can wreck a whole end in an instant, and stealing a point when the CPU had the hammer feels like a small heist.

Inside Curling: what we checked
The numbers below come from Curling's own source code, and the screenshots are from our own test run of the game (20 October 2026).
- A match is 6 ends. In each end both sides throw 4 stones, one after the other, so there are 8 throws.
- Only stones inside the rings count. The closest stone to the button scores 1 point, plus 1 more for each of that side's stones that is closer than the opponent's nearest stone. Only one side scores in an end.
- The side that throws last (the hammer) has the advantage. The first end is decided by a coin toss, and the side that scores in an end gives up the hammer for the next. If nobody scores, the hammer stays where it was.
- Drag back from your stone: a longer drag throws harder, and dragging off to one side sends it off the centre line, up to a limit.
- When one of your stones in the house is closer to the button than any of its own, the CPU chooses a hard takeout shot about 60% of the time. Its aim is slightly off every throw, so it can miss.
- A tied match is a Dead Draw. Your biggest winning margin is kept in this browser as your best.

How to play Curling
Press near your stone at the near end, drag backward like a slingshot to set aim and power, then release to slide it toward the house at the far end. Longer drags throw harder. Land closer to the center button than every CPU stone to score, and use hard throws to knock rival rocks out of the rings. Play all six ends and finish with the most points.
Controls
Mouse or finger: press, drag back to aim and power, release to throw. M mutes, the pause button returns to the menu. Best winning margin saves automatically.
Tips & tricks
- For a draw, use gentle power (a short pull) so the stone coasts to a stop right on the button instead of sliding straight past.
- Watch the dotted preview line and the landing ring while you drag; that's your real aim, not the direction your finger is pointing.
- When the CPU is sitting on the button, throw harder and aim right through their stone to knock it out and steal the spot.
- A stone parked just short of the house makes a handy guard, screening your good rock so the CPU can't hit it out.
