About Golf Solitaire
Golf Solitaire is the fastest card game on the site: a whole hand lasts about a minute, and it never quite lets you stop at one. Thirty-five cards sit face up in seven columns, and anything one rank above or below the waste comes off with a tap. No suits, no colors, no foundations to manage — just a board you read at a glance and a stock that runs out far sooner than you would like.
The skill is in the runs. A 6 on the waste takes a 5, which takes a 4, which takes another 5 — one good read can strip six or seven cards without touching the stock. The catch sits at the ends of the ladder: Kings and Aces are not neighbours here, so a Queen is the only way onto a King and every Ace is one step from a dead stop.
Every hole scores like golf — cards left equal strokes — and nine holes make a round against a par of 36. There is one undo, a scorecard between holes, and a course record to beat. Perfect for coffee breaks; dangerous for lunch breaks.
Where Golf Solitaire comes from
The game began as One Foundation, recorded in Tarbart's Games of Patience in 1905, and acquired the name Golf when players started counting the cards left in the columns as strokes, playing nine deals as 'holes' with 45 or under as par. Seven columns of five face-up cards are cleared onto a single waste pile one rank up or down, and Morehead and Mott-Smith put the chance of clearing everything under the traditional rule that nothing may be played on a king at only about 5%. Tri Peaks and David Parlett's Black Hole are later offshoots; this version is 360 PlayZone's own take on the classic. Source.

How to play Golf Solitaire
Tap any exposed card that is one rank above or below the top of the waste pile — suits don't matter, and runs can zigzag up and down. When nothing plays, tap the stock to flip a fresh card. The hole ends when the board is clear or the stock is empty with no moves left, and every card still on the board counts as a stroke. Lowest total after nine holes wins the round.

Tips & tricks
- King and Ace do not wrap: only a Queen plays on a King and only a 2 on an Ace, so never spend a Queen or a 2 while a King or an Ace is still buried.
- Look for the longest zigzag before you tap — 5-6-7-6-5 clears five cards, while grabbing the nearest 6 on its own clears one.
- When two columns offer the same rank, take from the taller column: strokes come from cards left on the board, and tall columns are where they hide.
- Use the single undo to test a fork — take one branch, count what it opens, and step back if the other branch runs longer.
