About Sky Hopper
Sky Hopper is an endless climb upward, and the star is a squishy glowing blob you can't help but root for. It bounces on its own and looks wherever you steer. Your only job? Left and right. Line up the next platform, ride the moving ones, steer clear of the cracked ones, and milk every spring for big air. The higher you go, the nastier the tower gets. Platforms shrink and drift. Clouds vanish after a single bounce. Spiky drones patrol the gaps, and black holes warp your path toward them. To even the odds you've got spring shoes, shields and a flame-spitting jetpack. The starfield shifts color the higher you rise, your best height stays on screen the whole time, and one bad bounce drops you all the way back down.
Inside Sky Hopper: what we checked
The numbers below come from Sky Hopper's own source code, and the screenshots are from our own test run of the game (20 October 2026).
- Your score is the highest point you have reached, in metres, at 10 pixels a metre. Falling back down never lowers it, and a milestone message appears every 100 m.
- The game is hardest from about 800 m, and it ramps up smoothly until then. Platforms narrow from 74 to 56 pixels, the gaps between them widen, and more of them move, crumble or are clouds. At the start 8% of platforms move, 5% crumble and 4% are clouds, and those shares rise to 30%, 21% and 13%.
- Drones begin to appear above 55 m. You can stomp one by landing on it from above for a bigger bounce, and anything else that touches you ends the run, unless you hold a shield or jetpack.
- Black holes start above 160 m, always near a side edge. They pull you in from about 125 pixels away, and only touching the centre kills you.
- Power-ups sit on solid platforms, from 15 m up: spring shoes (your next 6 bounces are higher), a shield (absorbs one drone or black hole) and a jetpack (about 2.5 seconds of flight, then about a second of protection).
- Leaving the screen at one side brings you back on the other. Arrow keys or A and D steer, P pauses, M mutes, R restarts. Your best height is kept in this browser.

How to play Sky Hopper
Your hopper bounces by itself, so all you do is steer it left and right onto the next platform. The screen scrolls up with you, and falling off the bottom ends the run. Use springs for big jumps, grab jetpacks and shields, stomp drones from above, steer wide of black holes, and don't forget you can wrap around the screen edges. Your score is the height you reach.
Controls
Left/Right arrows or A/D on desktop; on mobile hold the left or right half of the screen. Moving the mouse also steers. P pauses, M mutes.
Tips & tricks
- Falling off one side wraps you to the other — use it to escape dead ends.
- Bounce on TOP of drones to destroy them; never clip them from the side.
- Cracked pink platforms hold exactly one bounce — have the next move ready.
- Near a black hole, aim past it, not at the platform beside it.
