A dress-up game for the festival season. Style a look from six hairstyles, six Indian outfits, eight colour pairs, dupattas, jewellery, bangles and mehndi, then pose for a photo in a Diwali, Holi, Eid, wedding or Basant scene.

About Festival Dress Up

Festival Dress Up is a styling game built around what people actually wear when the lights go up: a lehenga for Diwali, a saree for a wedding, a sharara for Eid, an anarkali for anything that calls for twirling. There is no timer and no score to chase. You build a look, change your mind as often as you like, and take a photo when it is right.

Eight tabs do the work. Hair offers a long loose style, a braid, a bun, a bob, a ponytail and curls. Outfit switches between a lehenga choli, a draped saree, a salwar kameez, a flared anarkali, a sharara and a kurta with jeans. Colour repaints the whole outfit in one of eight two-tone pairs, from pink and gold to teal and cream, and every border, motif and pair of shoes follows. Dupatta drapes a scarf across the shoulders, down one side or over the head. Jewellery adds a choker, a long haar, a maang tikka with earrings, jhumkas or the full set. Extras are the finishing touches: a bindi, a string of gajra flowers in the hair, a stack of bangles, mehndi on the hands, or all of them together. There are four skin tones.

The last tab sets the scene. Diwali is a night sky with fireworks and a row of diyas, Holi is a wall of colour, Eid has a crescent moon and hanging lanterns, the wedding has marigold garlands, and Basant has yellow fields and kites. Surprise throws every option at once for a random look. Photo hides the buttons, adds sparkle and lets you save the picture to your device. Your last look is remembered.

Tips & tricks

  • Pick the outfit first and the colour second. The colour tab repaints the borders, shoes and dupatta to match.
  • The over-the-head dupatta looks best with the bun or the long hairstyle and a tikka.
  • Everything under Extras adds a bindi, gajra, bangles and mehndi at once, which suits the wedding scene.
  • Try the same outfit in all five scenes before taking the photo. Dark outfits stand out on Holi and light ones on Diwali.
