Protect a rising balloon with a shield. Balls, spikes and whole walls of blocks drift down toward it, and your job is to shove every one of them aside before it touches. One touch pops the balloon and ends the climb.
About Balloon Guard
Balloon Guard gives you one thing to protect and one thing to protect it with. A red balloon with a small smile floats steadily up the screen. Above it, things are coming down: lines of coloured balls stretched across the whole sky, heavy boulders, rings with a weight in the middle, V-shaped funnels and showers of sharp little triangles. You do not control the balloon at all. You control a white shield, and anything the shield touches gets pushed.
Everything in the sky is a physical object. A row of balls does not vanish when you hit it; it bends, breaks and scatters, and the pieces knock into each other on the way. A light ball flies off at a flick. A boulder barely moves unless you lean on it, and it will plough through smaller things on its way past. So clearing a path is less about hitting everything and more about opening a gap in front of the balloon and keeping it open while the debris drifts by on either side.
The temptation is to swing the shield about. That is usually what pops the balloon, because a ball knocked sideways too hard bounces off the edge of the screen and comes straight back in. Small, deliberate pushes work better. The shield cannot overlap the balloon itself, so it can sit just above it as a last line of defence.
The balloon climbs faster the higher it gets, the sky darkens toward space, and the formations arrive closer together. Height is the score. One touch from anything ends the run, and the best height is saved.

How to play Balloon Guard
Move the white shield with the mouse or by dragging a finger. Push the falling balls, boulders and triangles away from the red balloon. Objects react to the push and to each other, so clear a gap above the balloon and keep it open. If anything touches the balloon it pops and the run is over. Your score is the height reached in metres.
Controls
Desktop: move the mouse to move the shield, or use the arrow keys or WASD; P to pause, M to mute. Touch: drag a finger and the shield follows just above it, so your finger does not hide it.
Tips & tricks
- Keep the shield a little above the balloon and work from the centre outward.
- Push gently. A ball hit hard bounces off the side of the screen and comes back.
- Break a wall of balls at one point and widen the hole. You do not need to clear the whole row.
- Boulders are heavy. Start pushing one early, from the side, while it is still high up.
