About Tiny Yurts
Tiny Yurts is a strategy puzzle stripped down to a single verb: draw. Yurts dot a pastel steppe, farms sit just out of reach, and every road between them is a line you drag with a mouse or a finger. Settlers walk the paths you lay and tend the farms at the end of them; leave a farm without enough hands for too long and the run is over. A calendar ticks the months past while the map quietly grows, seeding new yurts and farms further and further apart.
The catch is the path budget. You start with a small stock of road pieces, earn a trickle more as the months pass, and get a full refund for anything you erase — so the real game is rerouting, not drawing. The turning point of every run is the first time you rip up a comfortable shortcut to splice three yurts onto one shared trunk road while a farm across the map runs out of time.
It is a calm, tactile puzzle for anyone who likes logistics without menus, and the whole thing fits in 13 kilobytes — it took 4th place overall at js13kGames 2023. Open-source game by burntcustard (John), used under the MIT license.
