About Downhill Dash
Downhill Dash is a chase-camera run down an endless track that builds itself as you fall. You never brake and never accelerate on purpose — the ball leaves the line near 150 km/h and is past 400 a couple of kilometres later — so the only input is left and right. The track answers with rows of blocks across four lanes, holes bitten out of one side or the middle, stretches that narrow, and curves that drag you toward the outside. Touch a block, drop through a hole or roll off the edge and the run is over; distance in metres is the score.
The heat bar decides most runs. Skimming a block by inches, taking a diamond or landing a jump fills it, and a full bar fires RUSH on its own: a few seconds of extra speed stacked on whatever the track was already doing. Feeding it means steering toward danger, and every extra km/h shortens the reaction window for the next row. The generator stays fair about it: every row is built around one safe lane that shifts at most one position from the row before, so a clean line always exists for anyone reading far enough ahead.
Yellow ramps are the release valve. A flat lip and then a sudden drop throw the ball into the air, and while it is up there it passes over blocks and holes — but it still has to land on the road, which a long flight over a narrowed stretch often does not. A blue ring is the only other cushion: one free hit that eats a block, costs you speed, then is gone. Every 700 metres turns the zone counter and the colour palette over, and the track tightens with it. Best distance, runs and furthest zone carry over between sessions.

How to play Downhill Dash
Steer left and right; there is no brake and no jump button. Keep the ball off the blocks, out of the holes and inside the rumble strips, because any one of those ends the run and your score is the metres you covered. Skims, diamonds and landed jumps fill the heat bar, and a full bar hands you a few seconds of RUSH speed. A blue ring is a one-hit shield. A yellow ramp launches you over whatever comes next.
Controls
Desktop: the left and right arrow keys or A and D steer, P or Escape pauses, R restarts, M mutes and ? opens the rules; from the start and game-over panels any key begins a run. Touch: hold the left or right pad at the bottom of the stage, or press anywhere on the track and drag — how far your finger has travelled from where it landed is where the ball sits across the road. Tips & tricks
- Steer for the row after the one in front of you. The clear lane shifts at most one position from row to row, so an early nudge usually lines you up for both; at 400 km/h a row that already fills the screen is too late to answer.
- A curve drags you toward its outside edge, and the drag scales with speed. The same bend that barely registers in zone one will walk you off the road in zone four, so start holding the inside line before you feel it.
- RUSH fires the instant the bar fills, so the only way to choose the moment is to choose what you pick up. Skip the last diamond in a line if a dense row is coming, and take your skims on wide straight sections — the bar drains slowly on its own anyway.
- In the air you pass over blocks and holes, but the edge check comes straight back the moment you land. Use the flight to drift toward the centre stripe; a long jump that ends wide on a narrowed section counts as leaving the track.
