About Dino Runner
You already know this one. It's the little pixel dinosaur that shows up when your internet dies, except here it runs whether or not the Wi-Fi does. The dino sprints on its own across a flat, bone-dry desert, and your whole job is deciding when to leave the ground and when to hug it. Space or the up arrow launches a jump. The down arrow tucks him into a duck. That's the entire vocabulary, and it's plenty.
The catch is speed. The world scrolls faster the longer you survive, so the cactus you cleared comfortably a minute ago now demands a later, tighter jump, and the pterodactyls start swooping in at heights that punish lazy reflexes. High birds you run under; low ones you duck; the middle ones make you choose in a heartbeat. Land back down onto a bird and you're done, which is the trap that gets everyone.
There's no ending, no boss, no score to unlock. Just your last distance blinking at the top, quietly daring you to go one cactus further. Perfect for a spare two minutes or a stubborn afternoon.
Inside Dino Runner: what we checked
The numbers below come from Dino Runner's own source code, and the screenshots are from our own test run of the game (20 October 2026).
- Jumping is the only move: Space, the up arrow, a click or a tap. There is no duck. Keep holding the button for up to 10 extra frames of lift (about a sixth of a second at 60 frames per second) and the jump goes higher; a quick tap gives a short hop. You cannot jump again until you land.
- The score rises by 0.15 per frame, which is roughly 9 points per second at 60 frames per second.
- Every 100 points everything on the ground speeds up a little, and every 300 points the picture swaps between the light and dark colour themes.
- Obstacles are six cactus shapes, from small to medium single, double and triple groups, and birds that fly at two different heights. A bird can only appear once at least 500 frames (about eight seconds) have passed since the last one.
- Pits and stones on the ground, plus clouds and stars, are only scenery and cannot hurt you.
- After you crash you must wait one second before a press restarts the game. Your high score is saved in this browser, but only when you crash, so a score you are still building is not stored.

The dino runs on its own, and the world rushes by faster the longer you last. Jump the cactuses. Duck under the flying pterodactyls, and time it tight, because both will end your run. There's no finish line here. It's purely about beating your own distance record before you stumble.
