Six cars, one oval, no rules. Ram rivals with your front bumper, dodge their side, and burn boost for a fight-ending hit. Survive the round, then do it again, faster.
About Wreck Arena
Wreck Arena drops you into a dirt oval with five AI opponents and one simple rule: last engine running wins. Every car carries a visible health bar, and the arena's soft walls bounce everyone straight back into traffic instead of ending a run early. The physics reward a specific kind of aggression: turn your nose into a rival's door at speed and you dish out serious damage while barely feeling the hit yourself, but trade paint head-on and both of you pay for it. A boost meter charges over time and empties fast, so it becomes something to hoard for the one moment a rival is lined up broadside and vulnerable, not a button to hold down.
Wrecked cars do not vanish. They sit where they died, smoking, blocking lanes, and turning the oval into an obstacle course that gets messier as a round runs long. Clear a round and the next starts with faster, more aggressive AI, so the pace ratchets up until someone finally out-drives you. Your best round streak is saved locally, giving every restart a number to chase. No track to learn, no lap to memorize, just an oval, a health bar, and five cars that all want to end your day.
Inside Wreck Arena: what we checked
The numbers below come from Wreck Arena's own source code, and the screenshots are from our own test run of the game (20 October 2026).

- It is you and five AI cars, 100 health each. Your health and boost refill at the start of every round.
- Damage depends on how fast the cars close on each other and where they meet. A hit with your nose into the side of a car does the most. Below a closing speed of 45 a bump does no damage at all.
- Boost multiplies your engine by 1.55, raises top speed by 35% and makes your hits 40% harder. It drains in about two and a half seconds and takes about nine seconds to refill from empty.
- Scoring: 40% of the damage you deal in points, plus 150 and the damage of the final blow for each car you wreck, and 500 times the round number when you clear it.
- The AI cars get faster each round, 7% per round, up to a cap of 60% faster in round 10.
- The round ends as soon as you are wrecked. Your best round and best score are kept in this browser.

How to play Wreck Arena
Press Play to enter the arena against five AI cars, each with their own health bar. Drive into rivals to deal damage, aiming your front bumper at their side for the biggest hits while avoiding head-on trades. Hold boost for a burst of speed and a harder-hitting collision, but spend it wisely since it drains fast and refills slowly. Be the last car still running to clear the round and move on to a faster, tougher one.
Controls
Keyboard: Arrow keys or WASD to steer and accelerate, Space to boost, M to mute. Touch: drag inside the joystick zone on the bottom-left to steer and drive, tap and hold the BOOST button on the bottom-right for a burst of speed and a harder hit.
Tips & tricks
- Turn your nose into their door. Hitting a rival broadside with your front bumper deals heavy damage while you barely feel it, but meeting them head-on trades damage evenly instead.
- Save boost for the finishing hit. A boosted collision lands roughly 40% harder, so hold the meter until a rival is already low on health or lined up for a clean side hit.
- Wrecked cars do not move but they still block. Cut behind a smoking wreck to break a chaser's line, or bait an aggressive AI into rear-ending one.
- The oval's wall bounces you straight back into traffic. Bleed off speed before you hit it, since a wild rebound off the rail can throw you broadside into whoever is chasing you.
Frequently asked questions
Does Wreck Arena save my progress?
Yes — Wreck Arena keeps your best score and settings in this browser's local storage, so they are still there when you come back on the same device. Nothing is uploaded and no account is involved — clearing your browser data is what resets it.
Is Wreck Arena unblocked at school or work?
Wreck Arena is a plain web page of about 40 KB — no plugin, no installer, no app store — so it loads on a Chromebook or a locked-down school or office laptop the same way any other page does, and the whole game arrives in one short download. Whether it opens comes down to your network's filter rather than the game itself.
Who made Wreck Arena?
Wreck Arena was built in-house by the 360 PlayZone team using open web technology (HTML5), which is why it runs instantly without any download.
