Five clients, five requests. They show you the look they want — match the cut, the colour, the texture and the fringe. Close is not the same as right.
About Hair Salon
Most hair games hand you a head and let you do whatever you like. This one puts the client's request on the left of the screen and your chair on the right, and then quietly judges the gap between them.
Four things have to line up: the cut, from pixie through bob and shoulder-length to a full updo or ponytail; the colour, from black and auburn through to teal and platinum; the texture, straight, wavy or curly; and the fringe, which is the one everybody forgets until the reveal.
Colour is the interesting part, because it is scored on a gradient rather than pass or fail. Reach for caramel when she asked for blonde and you still collect most of the points — the shades are neighbours. Reach for blue and you do not. That single rule turns the colour wall from a memory test into a judgement call, and it is where the difference between a decent score and a perfect one usually lives.
Inside Hair Salon: what we checked
The numbers below come from Hair Salon's own source code, and the screenshots are from our own test run of the game (20 October 2026).

- Each client asks for four things: one of 6 cuts, one of 12 colours, one of 3 textures and one of 4 fringes, chosen at random. Your chair always starts as a bob, dark brown, straight, with no fringe.
- A look is scored out of 100: 30 for the cut, 20 for the texture, 20 for the fringe and up to 30 for the colour.
- The cut, texture and fringe are all or nothing, but colour is graded by how close your shade is to theirs. An exact match earns all 30, and the points fall away as the shade gets further off, reaching zero at a large difference.
- If the colour earns fewer than 18 of its 30 points, it is listed as a miss in the client's comment, along with any wrong cut, texture or fringe.
- A shift is five clients and your result is the average of their five scores. Star ratings round each look's score to the nearest 20 points, with a minimum of one star.
- Your best shift average is kept in this browser. M mutes, and Space or Enter moves on to the next client.

Tips & tricks
- Do the cut first. It changes the silhouette most, and the fringe and texture read differently on top of the wrong shape.
- Colour is graded by how near your shade is, so if you cannot place it exactly, pick the closest neighbour rather than guessing wildly.
- The fringe is worth 20 points and is the easiest thing to overlook — check it before you spin the chair.
- Texture shows in the outline rather than the colour: straight is a clean edge, wavy is broken, curly is tightly broken.
Frequently asked questions
Does Hair Salon save my progress?
Yes — Hair Salon keeps your best score and settings in this browser's local storage, so they are still there when you come back on the same device. Nothing is uploaded and no account is involved — clearing your browser data is what resets it.
Is Hair Salon unblocked at school or work?
Hair Salon is a plain web page of about 18 KB — no plugin, no installer, no app store — so it loads on a Chromebook or a locked-down school or office laptop the same way any other page does, and the whole game arrives in one short download. Whether it opens comes down to your network's filter rather than the game itself.
Who made Hair Salon?
Hair Salon was built in-house by the 360 PlayZone team using open web technology (HTML5), which is why it runs instantly without any download.
