About Word Drive
Taking a word search and putting it in motion sounds like a gimmick and mostly works. Instead of a fixed grid you scan at leisure, letters come toward you along a road and you steer to collect the ones you need, in order, to spell the target word. Miss a letter and it is gone until it comes around again.
The change is real: static word search is a pure recognition task with no time pressure at all, while this adds a motor skill and a queue. You have to know the word you are spelling, know which letter comes next, and physically get to it — three things at once, where the original asked for one. It is noticeably more tiring and noticeably more engaging.
