Customers walk up holding a ticket, the ticket shows the toppings they want, and you build the pizza in front of you: dough first, then sauce, then cheese, then whatever the ticket asks for. The next thing you need lights up green, so you are never hunting through the tray — you are deciding which of the three people in front of you to cook for next.
The oven is where it turns into a game. There are two racks and one bake meter each, with a narrow green band on it. Take a pizza out inside that band and it tips well; take it out early and you hand someone raw dough; leave it and it burns, which costs you the pizza and blocks the rack until you bin it. Because there are two racks, the natural rhythm is to start the next pizza while the first one bakes, which means you are watching a meter out of the corner of your eye while your hands are somewhere else. The pass only holds one finished pizza, and that pizza cools while it sits there, so pulling early to "get ahead" usually costs more than it saves.
Meanwhile the patience bar under every face is running down. Let one empty and the customer walks out and takes a heart with them; three hearts and the shop closes. Each day has a takings target, and each new day brings people in faster with longer tickets. Chain clean, perfectly-baked pizzas and the tip multiplier climbs — one burn, one cold plate or one wrong tap and it drops back to nothing. - When two customers want the same toppings, give the pizza to the one whose patience bar is nearly empty. You give up part of the speed bonus, but the speed bonus is worth far less than the heart you would lose.
- Bin a burnt pizza the instant the rack frame turns red instead of finishing the build in front of you. It cannot be served or rescued, and until it is gone you are cooking on one rack.
