Over Crazy Eights
Crazy Eights is the card game almost everyone learned from a cousin or a grandparent, and it survives because the rules fit in one breath while the decisions never quite stop mattering. You and the computer each hold a hand. A single card sits face up on the discard pile, and on your turn you either cover it with something that shares its suit or its rank, or you go digging in the deck. Every eight in the pack is wild: play one and you name whichever suit you like, which is exactly how a losing hand claws its way back.
The part that turns it from luck into a game is watching what your opponent can't do. When the CPU draws three cards on a hearts pile, it has told you it holds no hearts, and a good player files that away and steers the suit right back there two turns later. Holding an eight until that squeeze moment usually beats spending it early just to dodge one awkward turn. The flip side is that eights count as heavy cards at the end of a round, so sitting on two of them when your opponent is down to a single card is its own kind of trouble.
Rounds are quick — a minute or two each — and the match runs to three round wins, so a bad shuffle never sinks you outright. It suits anyone who wants a real card game with actual thinking in it, without a tutorial or a sign-up standing in the way.
Hoe te spelen
Play a card from your hand that matches the top of the discard pile by either suit or rank. Any eight is wild and lets you choose the next suit. If nothing you hold is legal, draw up to three cards, and pass if you still can't play. Empty your hand to win the round; the first player to three round wins takes the match.

Tips & trucs
- When the CPU draws several cards in a row, note which suit was showing — it almost certainly has none of that suit, so steering the pile back there later forces it to draw again.
- Don't burn an eight just to escape one awkward turn. Saved for the moment your opponent is down to their last card or two, a wild suit change is worth far more.
- If you hold four cards of one suit and one of another, play the odd card out early. Getting stuck holding a lone off-suit card at the end is what loses close rounds.
- Eights are the heaviest cards to be caught holding when a round ends, so if you're clearly losing the round, spend one rather than hoarding both.
